The E-newsletter

What are E-Newsletters?

Medsin E-Newsletters are weekly Newsletters produced by the National Secretary and sent out to all subscribers of the mailing list. They are a quick and easy way for all Medsin members to find out about local, national and international events and news and to provide this news to let everyone know what’s going on!

What’s in the E-Newsletter?

The E-Newsletter contains a brief summary of all Medsin news from the last week. E-Newsletters are sent out every Monday with 100-word summaries of news from Medsin and the IFMSA and shorter snippets of news from other organisations. Where there is more information available, a contact e-mail address, a web link, or both will be given at the end of each article so you can find out more about the things which interest you. We appreciate that we are all busy people and we have different interests within Medsin, so we are working hard to ensure that the E-Newsletter meets the needs of its members by being as short as possible while remaining packed with interesting information!

What’s in the E-Mail?

The weekly e-mail contains a text only version of the newsletter with a link to a permanently archived (and prettier) version of the newsletter on the website.

How can I add to the E-Newsletter?

To add your news, e-mail it to news@medsin.org. E-Newsletters are produced over the weekend, so e-mails received by Friday will be edited and will appear in Monday’s E-Newsletter. If your submission is particularly large, we will upload the full version to the Medsin website’s news section and include a brief synopsis and a link to the main article – this is not because we think your e-mail is irrelevant but because in a survey in September 2004, one quarter of those providing feedback on the E-Newsletter felt that it was too long!!

Lots of the feedback we received was from people wanting to hear more from other branches – so please keep sending news about events and achievements coming! It’s what makes the E-Newsletter interesting and it is what people want to read – unfortunately, I can’t make it up if I don’t receive it so please keep it coming!

I love/hate/am confused by the E-Newsletter – what can I do?

The E-Newsletter is produced for Medsin members and so we are always keen to know whether it is meeting your needs. Please send any feedback, good or bad, short or long, to secretary@medsin.org and we will try to address any issues raised. Please remember that there are several hundred people subscribed to the mailing list, and try as we might we just can’t please everyone!!
