Environmental Impact
The environmental impact of running two conferences a year can be quite considerable.
We therefore ask you to make your conference as environmentally friendly as possible.
Things to think about include:
- Can you recycle the rubbish after lunch?
- Can you avoid using plastic/ paper cups?
- How big does the handbook need to be?
- Do you really need that speaker to fly across the Atlantic to come to your conference? Maybe a video link could be possible?
- Encouraging speakers to take public transport
- Might it be possible to calculate the total environmental impact of your conference, through carbon emissions and travel miles etc?
- Ways in which you can make it as easy as possible for conference delegates to attend the conference by public transport.
