Opportunities in the IFMSA for 2010/2011

The IFMSA EB-elect members are opening a call for IFMSA Initiative Project Coordinators, Executive Board Treasurer and a number of other positions, all detailed below, for the term 2010-2011.

Call for IFMSA Initiative Coordinator applicants
Deadline 26th September 2010
The IFMSA Executive Board members can appoint IFMSA Initiative Project Coordinators, and the person appointed for the position of Initiative Project Coordinator is not an IFMSA Official, not a part of the IFMSA Team of Officials and does not have an allocated budget. This call is opened for following Initiative Project Coordinators:
IFMSA Think Global Initiative Project Coordinator 2010-2011
IFMSA Tobacco Initiative Project Coordinator 2010-2011
Requirements of candidates:
a. Be a medical student, or will not be graduated more than 6 months by the time his/her office term starts. b. Be a member of a Full or Associate Member Organization. c. Have attended at least one General Assembly Meeting d. Have basic knowledge of the structure, function and relations of IFMSA. e. Not be a member of a National Member Organization that is in violation with the IFMSA Constitution and Bylaws.
Candidates should provide these documents:
a. A filled out Candidature Form for Assistants, signed and stamped by the NMO President (enclosed) b. A filled out Technical Data Card for Assistants (enclosed) c. A motivation letter (including a Plan of Action) d. A curriculum vitae e. A photos (high-resolution, jpg format) for publication purposes f. A scanned page of the candidate’s passport
The EB-elect would kindly request that the candidatures be sent by e-mail to Leo.chang.tw@gmail.com (cc: ebelect@ifmsa.org) by September 26th 2010. Appointment of the IFMSA Initiative Project Coordinator is to follow shortly after the first Executive Board Meeting to be held October 1st 2010.
Call for applicants for IFMSA EB Treasurer
Deadline = 5th September 2010
IFMSA Treasurer 2010-2011 (EB position) Tasks of the IFMSA Treasurer are specified by IFMSA Constitution and Bylaws 7.2.3. Chapter 14 of the by-laws are also essential to the work of the Treasurer.
Requirements of candidates (Bylaw 6.1.2): a. Be a medical student, or will not be graduated more than 6 months by the time his/her office term starts. b. Be a member of a Full or Associate Member Organization. c. Have attended at least one General Assembly Meeting; for candidates for Executive Board and Standing Committee Director positions, at least two General Assembly Meetings. d. Have basic knowledge of the structure, function and relations of IFMSA. e. Not be a member of a National Member Organization that is in violation with the IFMSA Constitution and Bylaws.
Candidates should provide these documents (Bylaw 3.12.8): a. A filled out candidature form, signed and stamped by the NMO President (enclosed) b. A filled out Technical Data Card for Officials (enclosed) c. A motivation letter (including a Plan of Action) d. A curriculum vitae e. A passport picture for publication purposes f. Three copies of the identity page of the candidate’s passport for registration purposes
Note for NMO Presidents: 6.1.5. By signing the candidature the National Member Organization enters into the liability for any damages caused by its candidate after being elected for the corresponding executive body. 6.1.6. The National Member Organization shall see to it that its elected delegate fulfils his/her proposed plan of action

A 2-week window will be open for NMOs to read through applications, and send in their questions to the candidates until September 19th 2010. The candidates have one week to answer the questions until September 26th 2010. Appointment of the interim Official is to follow shortly after the first Executive Board Meeting to be held October 1st 2010. The interim Official will have to be tabled for an election by the 60th IFMSA March Meeting General Assembly in Jakarta, Indonesia.
The following criteria will be taken into consideration during the selection process: 1) Candidates’ experience with economics and finances 2) Candidates’ experience with IFMSA finances 3) Candidates’ experience with IFMSA in general 4) Candidates’ response to NMOs questions 5) Candidates’ PoA 6) Other supportive points in CV/ML
ps - Additional Bylaws that might assist you: 3.12.5. There can not be more than two candidates for the Executive Board from the same country. 3.12.6. Candidates may run for only one IFMSA Official position in any given general assembly. 3.12.7. There cannot be co-candidatures (more than one person running together for the same position).

IFMSA Focal Point for the European Youth Forum 2010-2011
IFMSA is a full member of the European Youth Forum (YFJ), for more information on YFJ, please visit: www.youthforum.org. Task of the IFMSA FP for YFJ is to maintain the communication and cooperation between the two organisations and insure IFMSA representation in YFJ meetings.
IFMSA Focal Point for the General Secretariat 2010-2011 Deadline September 26th 2010
IFMSA General Secretariat with the World Medical Association, located in Ferney-Voltaire, France requires regular maintenance. Task of the IFMSA FP for General Secretariat is to ensure we have regular presence in Ferney, as well as to ensure IFMSA correspondence and archives are maintained.
