Medsin Global Health Conference hits the news!

Coverage of our recent Global Health Conference in Newcastle last month hit the media airwaves with a write-up by our partners at The Lancet Student.
"The next general elections are looming. A proportion of the British public is anticipating a hung parliament and the major concern thought to be defining the agenda of the forthcoming vote is the economy. The financial crisis of the previous three years has been considered by many economists to be the worst since the Great Depression of the 1930s; a crisis that has detrimentally affected the growth of western-industrialised countries and devastated the lives of a vast number of the world’s population.
Upon this background, 300 students from across UK higher education institutions gathered in the Medical School of Newcastle University to discuss the outlook of global health and edify their vision of what is projected for the next forty years. The theme, ‘2050, a Healthy Future?’ provided plentiful opportunity for hallmark discussion and debate through a variety of plenaries, workshops and the still relatively new innovation, ‘Medsin Question Time’."
