ATTENTION...
Medsiners in need of energy, of motivation and of new skills & ideas!!
Applications are now still open for Training New Trainers, a Medsin-run programme of training which will turn anyone with an interest in becoming a Medsin Trainer into a superhero of skillful amazinness. Read on more how you can get involved. It's cheap, it's cool, it gets you some pretty nifty CV points (you love it?) and there might even be some National Committee folks there to share the Training joy. What more could you want?
What is TNT?
Training New Trainers is an Internationally Accredited Course, by the International Federation of Medical Students' Associations. By attending this course, you will be able to provide Training sessions at all Medsin events, and after some time, at International Events run by other Medical Student organisations. You will learn to Train in various Project Management topics such as Continuity, Handover, Sustainability, Publicity, Facilitation Skills, Group Dynamics and many more... We will provide you with the tools to run these sessions, or with the insight into how to develop your own!

Why should I be interested?!
My belief, is that the local level is the important place where Training tends not to occur. Training at a National level conference is all well and good, and a very important aspect of Training, but what happens to the people who couldn't make it to the Conference? Even the Autumn and Spring Weekends, with less restrictive time constraints than National events still could be supported by further Training and follow up.
My second belief is that Training, by design, is extremely transferable. Not only will the skills that new Trainers learn apply to the Medsin Branches, Campaigns, and Projects but also to their future lives as individuals working in Teams.
My third belief is that Training offers a skills base formed from tried and tested methods, and learning from the mistakes of others so that the people you Train do not have to! To quote Daft Punk, this will get you working Harder, Better, Faster and Stronger (and more Efficiently) and to quote Marie Claire (Publicity Director, National Committee), this will make your local activity a Force to be Reckoned With.
My request, is that all Branches really, really push someone, anyone from their Branch to apply to attend the TNT course this year. I also ask all National Project and Campaigns coordinators to spread this message within their networks too, down to the Branch level.
To summarise :)
* The Medsin Training Network needs to expand, and be more distributed across the country
* Training needs to be more accessible to Medsinners at a Branch level
* Training needs to have more time dedicated to it
* Training can provide the skills base for all Medsin activities, be it Branch, Project, or Campaign
* Previous experience is NOT essential (read the application form and you'll see!)
