Call for applications for Think Global Team members 2009/10

Think Global is an IFMSA initiative project. The project aims for all future healthcare professionals to have an understanding of global health, and provides opportunities for IFMSA students to learn about global health issues. Think Global also stimulates students to raise awareness about global health issues among their National Member Organizations, and to advocate for global health education in the medical curricula.
Anyone is welcome to apply! But we would like to specifically encourage those who have an understanding of the Think Global project, and a keen interest in global health education. Please note that being involved in the Think Global team will require a significant time commitment on your behalf.
1 x Vice Coordinator
Tasks:
To support the Think Global coordinator in their role.
To assist with the coordination of Think Global workshops at IFMSA General Assemblies and Regional Meetings.
To assist with adminstrative tasks such as writing project reports, compiling workshop evaluation, distributing a fortnightly global health newsletter, etc.
To attend global health meetings or conferences on behalf of the project, if the Think Global coordinator is unable to attend.
5 x Regional Assistants (1 for each IFMSA region)
Tasks:
To keep an overview of global health activities in your IFMSA region.
To support initiation of global health activities in your IFMSA region.
To empower NMOs to establish international collaborations for organizing global health related projects.
To motivate NMOs to appoint national global health officers or contact persons.
To encourage the incorporation of global health in the regional meetings.
To empower national contacts to act as advocates for global health education to the key individuals and organizations within their country, through training events, and through networking with others.
1 x Database Coordinator
Aim:
To have an online database containing local/national global health activities with contact details of the project coordinators, website links and materials used. It is hoped that this will facilitate the exchange of ideas, experiences, skills and information, and help us obtain an overview of all global health related activities.
Tasks:
To build an accessible and easy to use database.
To motivate IFMSA members to add information relating to their projects, to the database.
To aid IFMSA members who have difficulty using the database.
1 x Web Coordinator
For this position, previous experience in website design and maintenance is necessary.
Tasks:
To create a well-designed Think Global website.
To keep this website updated, so that it can be utilized as an important information tool for all medical students interested in learning more about global health issues.
To include databases of global health contacts, resources and students' opinions on global health on the website.
1 x Fundraising Coordinator
Tasks:
To raise funds for Think Global workshops and activities, by applying for grants and approaching appropriate sponsors.
To maintain a database of potential sponsors and grants, and update this when applications are successful or unsuccessful.
To assist with fundraising for regional Think Global workshops (where applicable).
