Developing the Vision of Medsin

Our network is a fantastically diverse arrangement of impassioned youth, all sharing a common desire to improve the health of communities around the world. This has brought like-minded people together, and also allowed a range of ideas, all aiming to tackle inequality and inequity in health, to be brought to bear on UK university campuses.

For an organisation to function properly though, the question could be asked of what purpose is, or the goals our network is seeking. We may need or benefit from, furthermore, a common set of principles, that allows us to project to a wider audience the strength that lies in our collective forward-looking consciousness.

We had a fascinating discussion at the SGA recently on what Medsin is and how we can develop how we define ourselves. We decided to hold a picture competition, to make this a bit more of a fun process!

To that end therefore we would like to invite EVERYONE in Medsin to send in a picture of what defines Medsin for them - we're looking perhaps for diagrammatic pictures which show the operation of the network, or what 'vision' Medsin should be seeking to address, whatever comes to mind! NO artistic skill is required for this exercise though there will be a prize (tbc but to the value of ~£60) for the best submission!

You can scan in your picture and send it to committee@medsin.org - or post it to 40 Manor Park, Redland, Bristol, BS6 7HN. When sending in these, particularly if you are a Branch President, or Project/Campaign Coordinator, we would appreciate if you could complete the attached question form.

The deadline for these is Friday the 30th of May so you better get to the drawing board!

Good luck and we look forward to seeing all your submissions!
