Summary
Deadline for applicants for IFMSA delegates at the 62nd World Health Assembly, WHO Headquarters, Geneva, Switzerland is the March 31st (applicants should send in their CV, one page letter of intent, including their pre-planned contribution to the IFMSA delegation). The event will be held from May 18th-27th 2009.
Dear IFMSA members,
Every year the World Health Organisation organizes the annual World Health Assembly (WHA) that brings together all the governments, WHO EB and staff members to discuss issues, make decisions and plan future activities in regards to global public health. It is a large international event that influences health policies and brings together all the major stakeholders. WHO decides what are the major health topics that are to be discussed during WHA during the WHO EB Meeting. Agenda of the upcoming WHA was decided in the WHO EB meeting held in January at the WHO Headquarters (which was attended by IFMSA President and Liason Officer to the WHO). IFMSA is invited by the WHO to attend and speak at this event, as in all the previous years.
IFMSA will be represented in the upcoming 62nd World Health Assembly organized by the WHO in Geneva, Switzerland (May 18-27) with a delegation representing the Federation. The final list of IFMSA delegates will be decided by the IFMSA Liaison Officer to the WHO and the IFMSA President. Priority will be given to the IFMSA Officials, the Initiative Project Coordinators and the Transnational Project Coordinators. It is noteworthy that IFMSA does not financially support its delegates to attend the 62nd WHA.
All applicants are asked to send in to lwho@ifmsa.org (by March 31st) their:
- CV (in English, no longer than 3 pages)
- Letter of Intent, including pre-planned contribution to the delegation
