This month, Medsin are working with Oxfam to build support for the release of their new policy paper “Blind Optimism – Challenging the myths of privatisation of health care in developing countries”. The paper is being released in Washington at an event hosted by Oxfam and the World Bank, and hopes to influence some of the major players in health care provision in developing countries. Essentially, Oxfam are calling for free public health care to be supported over private provision.
The paper is being supported by their joint action with UNISON (the public sector union in the UK) calling for Douglas Alexander to champion public provision of health care systems in the UK.
