Medsin National Conference Bristol 2006: Health is a human right.

On 28th-29th October, Bristol Medsin is hosting the annual national conference. Medical students from across the country will meet to discuss the topical statement "health is a human right".

The conference will acquaint students with current international health issues, provide a forum for debate and inspire action on a local and global level.

Plenary sessions cover tobacco, natural disasters and the role of Non-Government Organizations in humanitarian crises, health worker migration and health is a human right. Speakers include Dr. Robert Pond of the World Health Organization and Michael Rowson (lecturer on international health and development issues) and Gerald Hastings (Director, of the Institute for Social Marketing & Tobacco Control Research).
