On Saturday 24th February, Medsin Queen's played host to 50 students from Queen's University, Belfast for Medsin's first ever regional conference in Northern Ireland.
The theme of the conference was 'Conflict, Migration and Human Rights' and featured a wealth of local speakers including Virginia McVea from the Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission and Professor Colin Harvey from the Human Rights Centre at Queen's University.
A number of student lead workshops were run in the afternoon as well as workshops coordinated by externals, Oxfam and Trocaire.
Powerpoint presentations and further details of this event are available here.
The conference was a big success with many of our speakers commenting on how professional Medsin was as an organisation. Participants left at the end of the day, tired but enthused and ready for action.
All of the leftover food was donated to the Simon community which is a local charity that assists and provides shelter for many of Belfast's homeless population.
