Extraordinary Meeting at National Conference

Bristol, October, 2006

Summary

Thankyou to all those who attended the voting session on Saturday afternoon of the Bristol Conference. Several important decisions were taken:

  • Next year's National Conference will be held in Dundee - congratulations to Medsin Dundee for the successful bid. We look forward to joining you in 2007.
  • Gauri Verma and Stephanie Wilmore were elected as Coordinators for Medsin's Malaria Campaign.
  • Merav Kliner was elected as coordinator for PharmAware.
  • Coordinators are still needed for Water Aid, Stop Aids, Trade Justice and Fair Trade. Please contact Pete for more information.
  • 'Healthy Planet' was adopted as a Medsin Campaign. For more information see the campaign proposal attached to National Conference Webpageor contact the coordinators, Guppi and Sarah
  • Medsin formulated several guidance statements regarding a Global Health Magazine, external partnerships and how to release policy statements. These will all be available soon through the resources section of the website.
  • Medsin signed the Who4WHO letter calling for a more democratic and open election process for Director General of the World Health Organisation.
