This event has been and gone.
We would like to invite you to an event hosted by the Stop AIDS Campaign at this year's Labour Party Conference, at which we have 2 prestigious and influential speakers confirmed. The meeting is held just days before the Global Fund Replenishment Conference, when the UK will be expected to announce a 3-year funding commitment, and is a unique opportunity for us both to influence this process and to highlight our concerns to the new minister with responsibility for HIV and AIDS.
Details are below, and please let us know ASAP if you would like a place held for you (space is limited) – your presence as students would greatly support the work of the Stop AIDS coalition, demonstrating its strength and diversity, and providing the opportunity to engage directly with the new Government. Bournemouth is a couple of hours on the train from London (only £17 return from www.nationalrail.co.uk ) but would be well worth the trip, particularly due to the speakers confirmed and the impact we will have by making our presence felt as the Labour MPs arrive.
Event: Brown's First Test in the Fight Against AIDS
Date: Sunday 23rd September, 12pm-2pm
Venue: Punshon Methodist Church , Bournemouth (opposite Bournemouth International Centre).
Speakers:
- Michel Kazatchkine, Executive Director of the Global Fund,
- Shriti Vadera, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for International Development
Other speakers from civil society to be confirmed.
