Spring General Assembly 2007 - The Power is Yours

Before we go any further, here are some important pages of information for you to read:

Medsin is all about its members and the general assembly (GA) is YOUR opportunity to affect the way YOUR Medsin network operates- 'you got the power!'

There's lots happening, here are some of the highlights:

  • Proposing bylaws and policy statements for the Medsin Network- see below for more details. See the motions here
  • Vote in the New Medsin National Committee and Campaigns Coordinators- have your say! Read applications from candidates here. Some positions are still open to nominations. Please see this page for more information about how to apply.
  • Hear what Medsin's campaigns, projects and branches have been up to all year.
  • Opportunity to network with branches and groups, weighing up how the year has been, and start implementing change/ setting up new groups for the new year
  • Opportunity for training - Handover will be one of the hot topics for this year's SGA.
  • Mini-meetings will be happening on issues that affect you- email the national committee for your ideas on mini-meetings

Great Social and lots of fun and Medsin debauchery!

SO if you want to come, then email the registration form to sga2007@medsin.org. Costs at the moment are approx £10 for the weekend (payable on Saturday morning), which includes two lunches and all resources.

There will be a Saturday night social (which is optional-pay on the day) but a lot of fun! Accommodation can also be arranged so let us know on the form.

We would like at least one person from each branch or activity, but the more the merrier!

Mini Meetings

The SGA is all about YOUR opportunity to shape YOUR network. During the weekend there will be the opportunity for some 'mini meetings'. This is basically a chance for you to sit down with other interested people and discuss a topic that's important to you within the network. It would be great to have as many of these in as possible before the sga. So, if you have suggestions please email them to the committee.

There's still time to email in suggestions for mini meetings, so far these are the suggestions that we have:

  • Universities allied for essential medicines
  • Keep our NHS public
  • Money stuff - Branch Affiliation fees
  • Making Medsin GA's better
  • Partners and Patrons
  • Branch Presidents Meeting
  • Activities Board Meeting
  • Medsin's campaigns - how should we do them?
  • Medsin National Committee - what they do and what they should do.
  • The Network speaks - how we can improve our voice.
