Northern Regional Conference
Medical students from Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle, Hull-York and other Medsin branches met on Saturday 3rd of February at the University of Leeds for Medsin's first Regional Conference.
The theme of the meeting was Sexual and Reproductive Health.
Talks were given on the subjects of:
- HIV/AIDS Global Epidemic: Challenges and Opportunities - Rheinard Huss, Nuffield Institute for International Health and Development, University of Leeds
- Reducing Teenage Pregnancy in Hull - Miss Laura French, volunteer with CornerHouse
- Access to Essential Medicines - Oistein Thorsen, Oxfam

Workshops were also given on a range of topics ranging from Climate and Health (run by Medsin's Healthy Planet campaign) to Campaigning Techniques (delivered by Oxfam). The powerpoint from Oxfam's campaigning workshop is available on this page.
At lunchtime, students took part in a publicity stunt calling for Access to Essential Medicines.
