Evaluation from the national conference 2006

Thanks to all of you who took the time to fill in the evaluation forms at the national conference. Below is a brief overview of what you all said, the open comments are taking longer to process, but the most popular (and clean!) ones will be available asap. The workshop evaluation will be fed back to the facilitators/trainers/etc.

Travel wise you:

  • Spent on average £25.07 on travel, excluding Bristolians, and those of you who are stingy and aren't paying petrol money….
  • Took on average 3 hours 35 mins to get to Bristol
  • 5 of you have minibus licences, 1 of you thought it was a sily question (Idea behind the question was to highlight the availability of minibuses from student's unions - to get the licence you usually need to be 21 and drive around for a bit in a bus)
  • 44% of you came by car, 23% by train, 16% of you walked (am assuming that’s from Bristol and not from Dundee….), 11% of you came by bus/coach/etc, 3% of you flew and 3% of you seemed unsure as to how you got to the conference…

With regards to the plenaries you:

  • Agreed (fairly strongly) that the plenaries taught you something new
  • Agreed that you were interested in the plenary topics
  • Were unsure as to whether the plenaries ran to time
  • Understood the plenary content
  • Agreed that there was enough time for plenaries

You also:

  • Slightly agreed that there was a good choice of workshops

Generally you:

  • Felt fairly well informed before attending the national conference
  • Were unsure as to whether you knew what was going to happen at the national conference
  • Agreed that you knew where to go during the conference
  • Thought the website was fairly useful
  • Met lots of other Medsin members
  • Strongly agreed that the conference would be useful to you and your Medsin work in the coming year

And finally...

  • You all enjoyed the national conference! A lot!
