Policy for the Protection of Children, Young People and Vulnerable Adults 2007

Many activities in the Medsin network require volunteers to work with vulnerable persons such as children. Such work is not only rewarding but can really help to make a difference.

However, in rare cases, matters of concern may arise for the safety of the vulnerable persons you are working with. For this purpose, the national committee and activities board have worked hard to produce a policy to help local groups understand the issues and put in to place safeguards, protecting not only the persons you are working with, but the volunteers themselves.

We have also produced an implementation policy, to give guidance on how local groups can go about putting this all into place.

Attached to this page are the policy itself, the implementation policy and the incident report form.

If you have any questions or concerns, get in touch with the vice-president for projects who is responsible for matters related to the protection of vulnerable persons at vpprojects@medsin.org
