PharmAware aims to maximise good practice and ethical interactions between healthcare professionals and pharmaceutical companies to enhance patient care. Alongside this we aim to educate and campaign on various international pharma issues.
Latest News from the Campaign
We have had a great year so far, having had our AGM this month, we have set out a list of campaigns and aims, as well as creating a new list of action points for branches to follow.
It was discussed at the AGM that there should be more of a focus this year on the National Campaign of gaining curriculum teaching on pharmaware issues and drawing up a pharmaware policy for medical schools.
However, it was also agreed that we will continue to educate students about international pharma issues and perhaps affiliate ourselves with ‘Stop Aids’ and 'People and Planet' etc. The importance of education leading to knowledge and a change in behaviour is new aim/focus of the group.
Over the last year, Leeds have been successfully running their pharmaware SSC and many other branches have had speaker events and video nights. This year we aim to set up new branches in medical schools, get curriculum teaching into more branches and organise speaker event to educate others.
We are always looking for new members to join us and set up new branches at their medical school. We have an exciting year to look forward to!
