Apply to Be on Medsin's National Committee 2008-09
Applying
Have a read of the official job descriptions (attached to this page), and of the current committee's take on their role. You may stand for one position in each category - A, B and C.. Once you've decided which position(s) to go for send a 500 word 'statement of motivation' to the current committee.
A signed candidature form (also attached to this page) must be handed to the National Secretary before the beginning of the first voting session at the Spring General Assembly. If this is not received, your candidature is invalid.
Next
Appear at the Spring General Assembly on 26th-27nd April in Leeds, where you will be given two minutes in which to tell the voting members (branches, nationally recognised projects and priority campaigns) why they should vote for you.
Voting
Voting will then take place using a form of the Single Transferable Vote system. This means that if you are not elected in category A, then your candidature will still stand for category B. If you are not elected here then your candidature will go on to category C. It is thought that this is a fairer way of running elections, so as not to discourage competition for the positions of president and vice-presidents.
